Meet Josevan Tangka. Focused, Curious, and Always Improving.
Josevan has been working at Thermo Electric for over two and a half years as a Research and Development (R&D) Engineer. His role also involves handling orders, supporting daily production operations, and resolving technical issues related to the machines. No two days are the same, and that’s exactly what keeps him engaged.
Clear communication and collaboration with colleagues in Production are essential in his day-to-day work. Josevan values being able to discuss differences, listen to other perspectives, and find workable solutions; something he has come to appreciate more over time.
Outside of work, Josevan’s interests are wide-ranging, such as forest survival techniques, cooking, walking in nature, and practising magic tricks. 🪄 He also enjoys reading about alternative medicine and the body’s ability to self-heal; subjects that reflect his interest in how things work, both technically and naturally.
One memorable travel experience for Josevan was a trip to Indonesia, when he visited a remote island village surrounded by untouched nature, a striking contrast to daily life and a welcome reminder to slow down.
Looking ahead, Josevan hopes to continue growing in his role and contributing to the bigger picture, helping the team develop and deliver high-quality temperature sensors used by companies around the world.
What’s Josevan’s advice to anyone starting in a similar role?
“Take your time. Don’t rush to prove yourself. Observe, listen, and learn-you’ll grow more that way.”
